The Thermo Biopile's design intent is to provide heat and compost. The reactor core is comprised of switchgrass bales and wood chips. A layer of bales with chips sandwiched between. Also in the wood chip layer are pipes to harvest the heat generated by the aerobic bugs. There is also piping to provide water and air.
